A Nocturne for no Negligees

I neglect negligees now
bathing in a bed of rough cotton-
100 count shedding my soft skin.
Make me calloused and different
in this cave where even the moon
can’t dance on skin.
In my melatonin dreams I remember you,
and I’m wearing clothes crossing a river
with sticks, but I think that makes me
too heavy to reach you.

Such a creative approach. I like the way you connect the tactile with the emotions.

  5. so imaginative and love the allusion to river Styx

I think you captured the nocturne flavour very well.

I really liked the fun word play in your first line, and how you use disconnection as a connection point. This voice is fresh and intriguing. Thanks for posting!
